Chickenfoot: a supergroup is a band formed by supermusicians

Joe Satriani, Sammy Hagar, Chad Smith and Alex Van Halen got together and formed a band under the name of Chickenfoot. They also recorded a homonymous album. Chickenfoot is a supergroup and they sound like it. Their first and only record sounds like rock n roll played by great musicians having a blast. They are not ambitious simply because they don't need to. Perhaps that's the key of their success. Hundreds of thousands of visits to their Myspace and a sold-out-in minutes-nine-dates-club-tour proves it. In my opinion, the two most remarkable musicians of the group are Satriani and Smith. You can recognize that Satriani played the most important role in songwriting. On the other hand, Smith delivers an outstanding performance on drums. The voice of Sammy Hagar might not be at the shape of his golden years with Van Halen but he manages to do his job quite well. Alex Van Halen plays his bass pretty good too. This has got to be one of the greatest rhythm couple I've heard in a long time. Chickenfoot is what happens when you put together extraordinary musicians to play music they enjoy making. If Chickenfoot is the supergroup of the year, then Chickenfoot is the superalbum of the year as well.

I strongly disagree with Chickenfoot being a supergroup of the year... all of them are pretty good musicians though. I did not find nothing spectacular in it.
Dead Weather seems to be too much better !
