Campo: a sophisticated latin discourse
Juan Campodónico has produced some of the most interesting acts in Latin-American –Cuarteto de Nos, Jorge Drexler, Bajofondo, Ximena Sariñana. He has now edited his first record as a solo artist under the name of CAMPO (2012): an astounding collection of songs in which he seamlessly puts together traditional latin genres like cumbia, candombe and tango with other more modern like hip-hop, indie-rock and dance-hall. According to him, by making this record he aimed to put more value to the already rich music made in South America. This amazing album then materializes this undertaking by delivering well-crafted pop songs, played in interesting rhythms in a very stylish way. CAMPO could be defined as a celebration of modern identity, and that remains in itself an impressive accomplishment.
